Inside Out

“Inside Out” explores the ritual of addiction, its relationship to media, and its effects on cultural perception.  The overall theme is the ritual of transmuting perception inside out through media technology analogous to drug abuse. The suction from the real to the representation and back to the real expresses the saturation of pixelated voyeurism, sexual implosion, and rhythmic trance. The samples of the symbolic instruments are accompanied by a live performance of djembe drum to iterate the rhythmic juxtaposition between the primal “real” and the sampled representation.
